Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. is a non-profit organization that operates under a set of by-laws and is executed by the Board of Trustees for the purpose of providing oversight and strategic direction of the school.

Board Meetings
Board meetings are usually held monthly, occurring on the first Monday of the month, unless otherwise stated. Regular monthly public meetings include an opportunity for public comments (submit in writing to BOT by 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting; must be present or identify a designee to read on personal behalf). Please check the school calendar and weekly Griffin Gazette newsletter to verify the schedule for a specific date. Membership meetings are held at least annually. State of School meetings may be held 2-3 times per year. Public meetings are open to members of FCCS, Inc., except for agenda items requiring confidentiality, such as personnel matters or contract negotiation.

Committees
Committees have been set up by the Board of Trustees to provide the support needed to achieve the FCCS mission. Committee membership is open to parents, teachers, and community members. Please consult the school calendar for committee meeting times.
School Improvement Committee
This committee is responsible for improving the school’s academic program and school culture. In conjunction with the Head of School, the School Improvement Committee prepares and recommends the annual school improvement plan to the Board of Trustees for approval. The committee consists of parents nominated by the President and confirmed by the Board of Trustees and up to five staff members periodically selected by the Head of School.

PARENT TEACHER COMMITTEE (PTC)
The work of the PTC is to coordinate and support a variety of volunteer efforts for the school including, but not limited to, grade-level volunteering, social events, yearbook production, library management, field trips, and staff appreciation efforts. The PTC holds monthly meetings to coordinate upcoming volunteer needs and share ideas. Facilities Committee
This position is responsible for ensuring that the facility is well-maintained and meets the needs of the academic and extra-curricular programs.

Finance Committee
This committee is dedicated to providing the Board, school and committees with a diverse range of financial services aimed at ensuring financial accountability, sustainability and transparency. Sub-Committees are Accounting, Fundraising and Grants.

Nominating Committee
The nominating committee solicits nominations for Corporation officers and trustees, recommends candidates to the Board of trustees for elections, and organizes the elections.

Academics sub-Committee
This committee, a sub-committee to School Improvement Committee, is responsible for making recommendations to the Board in terms of the school's academic program and implementation, and working with staff to help implement high academic standards.

Admissions Sub-Committee
This committee, a sub-committee to the School Improvement Committee, is responsible for planning and coordinating admissions to the school through the annual lottery and providing prospective parents with appropriate information to make informed decisions, including hosting several informational nights and student orientations throughout the year.
